Langdorff lever wind music box playing Gounod
Very nice music box mede by Gounod in about 1865. The serial number 14744 is indicated on the lefthand side of the plain brass bedplate as on the bottom of the case.
The lever wind mechanism plays 6 tunes as indicated on the original tunesheet. The program is extroardenairy as it plays mainly Gounod, the wel known composer.
The lid of the case is inlayed with a simetrical rosewood cartouche. The interior of the ces is red, the side are simulated rosewood.
